Dear Circle family,
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
— Romans 15:13 (NIV)
There are a lot of unknowns about what’s going to happen, but hopefully you are starting to get into a rhythm of the new normal. We all deal with crisis out of our unique personalities and life experiences. There’s no “correct” response to everything we are facing. One stable, for sure, place to take our concerns however is God and his Word. God’s word is full of comforting, encouraging, and stabilizing verses like Romans 15:13 at the start of this message!
We will get through this together! And being together is key. But obviously more difficult in a pandemic scenario. At Circle we’ve moved as much as possible online.
We are using Zoom a lot these days to allow Circle groups to meet. Zoom is a digital video conferencing program that can be used by anyone with a smartphone, or a computer with a mic and camera. Circle staff are using it every day to ’meet’ with each other. Our board and leadership team met last Wednesday night using it. And the youth had an “everyone in their own home” scavenger hunt using Zoom as well. Everyone stays safely in their own home, social distancing, but you can still see, and talk to, co-workers, friends and family, so you don’t have social isolation.
There are other options for video connections, FaceTime, Skype, etc. Anything you are able to use is fine, but even a simple phone call is better than not connecting at all!
Church this Sunday!
Part of being the ‘church’ at Circle is being together. And we are still doing that, just in a different format. We started online last week, and Sunday morning at 10:25am on both cdac.ca and facebook.com/circleyxe we will have church together again.
If you go to the church website, cdac.ca, there is music for you to listen to, kids activity resources, the message from Pastor Eldon, a time for giving, and an opportunity for you to let us know how we can pray for you and your family.
We want as many Circle people, and all the friends and family you can invite, to be part of our Sunday morning service. Call up a friend or two and have them watch at the same time as you are and then have a video call about it after you’re done.
Let us know how it goes!
Prayer Requests
We also want to be praying for you. You can let us know your prayer requests by clicking this link to the Prayer Team form.
Circle Podcasts
If you like to listen to podcasts you can listen to the last 4 years of Circle Sunday morning messages through your favorite podcast app. And, during these ‘less structured’ times of working from home and no programming at Circle we’re adding some mid-week episodes by different ministry staff members. Just search for CircleYXE in your preferred podcast source. Or you can click on the links below and subscribe.
Apple Podcasts, Google Play or Spotify.
Stay safe at home, wash your hands, pray, and stay connected with family, neighbours and friends.
See you on Sunday!
