“Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Deuteronomy 6:5-7
Ever thought to yourself, “This is great advice . . . but how do I do it?” Well, you are not alone. As parents, most of us feel at one time or another that we are not equipped “for the job”. We love our kids, we want what is best for them, yet we know sometimes we fall short. Life is busy with jobs, school, after school activities, sports, music lessons and more. Yet we know, our spiritual lives and those of our children are important too. What is a parent to do?
Partnering with parents…
Well, that’s what Partnering with Parents is all about. We want to take the influence of the church and combine it with the influence of the home to impact our kids’ lives for Christ. We know many parents, myself included, didn’t grow up in a Christian home and have no example to draw from. Others may have grown up in a faith filled home yet don’t have a model to follow to pass on their faith to their kids. No matter where you have come from, we are traveling this road together.
…to build faith filled families
There is no quick fix or “easy button” here. There are also no “experts” either. What there is, is a church that desires to partner with parents as they make faith a priority in their home by providing encouragement, practical tools and helpful resources. The key here is partnership. You are not in this alone!
