Building Relationships for Good

The Bible Project at Circle

The BIble Project logo

The Bible is a unified story that leads to Jesus.

For a lot of people, the Bible is more of a devotional grab bag. For others, an instructional manual that fell out of the sky. And too often it is used as an oppressive book of rules to control and manipulate people.

The Bible Project will help you and I read through the 66 books that make up the Bible. But it does it while avoiding the common pitfalls and misunderstandings. The Bible Project takes the complex themes of the Bible and presents them in a way that is real, but still approachable and interesting.

Here’s a brief video explanation of what the Bible Project is all about.

When:
The Bible Project will restart on September 26, 2021 at 9:30am.

For who:
The Bible Project is designed so you can make sense of the Bible. Young or old, long time Bible reader or just starting to try it out, the Bible Project will be an interesting, entertaining, informative experience you will enjoy.

You can follow along, or catch up if you miss a Sunday with the videos and questions from each week as they are listed here.

Bible Project - March 31, 2019

Heaven and Earth

  • Watch

Introductory Question: In popular culture, we see many representations of what heaven is like. What are some common ideas people have about heaven? Discussion Questions: How does the Bible define heaven and earth? How might this be slightly different than most people think of heaven in particular? In the Bible, Heaven and Earth are conceived of as two different dimensions that can overlap. What are some examples of this “overlap” that occurs in the Old Testament? Why have Heaven and Earth become two separate spaces? What has God done to re-integrate the two dimensions of Heaven and Earth? “The Union of Heaven and Earth is What the Story of the Bible is All About.” In past generations this was clearer to readers and listeners of the Bible, but in our day this central pillar of the gospel has become obscured, opting for a “go to heaven when you die” focus to the Biblical story. Why do you think Christians in the West no longer emphasize this when explaining the Biblical story? Bible Passage:
